چکیده

This paper deals with Zadeh’s compositional rule of inference [12] under triangular norms: IF X is P AND X and Y have relation R, THEN Y is Q, where P and Q are fuzzy sets of the real line IR, R is a fuzzy relation on IR and the conclusion Q is defined via sup-T composition of P and R: μQ(y) = sup x∈IR T (μP (x), μR(x, y)), y ∈ IR. It is shown that (i) when the triangular norm T and the membership function of the observation P are continuous, then the conclusion Q depends continuously on the observation; (ii) when T and the membership function of the relation R are continuous, then the observation Q has continuous membership function. Furthermore, we present similar results for the discrete case and for multiple fuzzy reasoning schemes.

Fuzzy Decision Tree for Data Mining of Time Series Stock Market Databases

If the given fact for an antecedent in a fuzzy production rule (FPR) does not match exactly with the antecedent of the rule, the consequent can still be drawn by technique such as fuzzy reasoning. Many existing fuzzy reasoning methods are based on Zadeh’s Compositional rule of Inference (CRI) which requires setting up a fuzzy relation between the antecedent and the consequent part. There are so...

Approximate Reasoning in Surgical Decisions

Approximate reasoning is one of the most effective fuzzy systems. The compositional rule of inference founded on the logical law modus ponens is furnished with a true conclusion, provided that the premises of the rule are true as well. Even though there exist different approaches to an implication, being the crucial part of the rule, we modify the early implication proposed by Zadeh [1] in our ...

Rule reduction for efficient inferencing in similarity based reasoning

The two most important models of inferencing in approximate reasoning with fuzzy sets are Zadeh’s Compositional Rule of Inference (CRI) and Similarity Based Reasoning (SBR). It is known that inferencing in the above models is resource consuming (both memory and time), since these schemes often consist of discretisation of the input and output spaces followed by computations in each point. Also ...

Double Fuzzy Implications-Based Restriction Inference Algorithm

The main condition of the differently implicational inferencealgorithm is reconsidered from a contrary direction, which motivatesa new fuzzy inference strategy, called the double fuzzyimplications-based restriction inference algorithm. New restrictioninference principle is proposed, which improves the principle of thefull implication restriction inference algorithm. Furthermore, focusing on the ...

Similarity based approximate reasoning: fuzzy control

This paper presents an approach to similarity based approximate reasoning that elucidates the connection between similarity and existing approaches to inference in approximate reasoning methodology. A set of axioms is proposed to get a reasonable measure of similarity between two fuzzy sets. The similarity between the fact(s) and the antecedent of a rule is used to modify the relation between t...
